Juno
I think that the filming of the Juno opening scene went well overall and that the footage we made looks good. The story board that i made was accurate but because we did not use the story boards when filming the times did not match up perfectly. I tried to fix the timings when editing by slowing down and speeding up certain shots. 1 strength of our group was the filming i think we did this well and we got all of the footage we needed however we had to film twice because our juno characters changed. In doing this task i learnt how to use premier, i think that next time the effect that i put on could've been done better

Audience
Audience
Who creates the content the media or the audience?
I think that the media creates the content by choosing what they show the the public and deciding on what facts and what elements of the story are published but i also think that without the audience then the media looses its value.
Can the media exist/function without an audience? Can an audience (public) exist/function without media?
I think that both the media and the audience need each other, i think that the public are heavily dependant on the media and although we would be less aware of things we would be able to function. I think that this differs from the media needing the audience because without the public buying into what they are reading and seeing the media are made irrelevant
Can the media control an audience?
Yes, i think that the media can definitely and easily control the views and opinions of the public

Boyz in the hood
In the opening seconds of this film the first things we hear are sirens, cars skidding, gunshot noises and screams, this instantly alerts the viewers that there is danger and the police calls further display the genre to be crime. We hear the voice of a small child crying that his brother has been shot , this emotive dialogue shows the viewer what they can expect. Something else that symbolises danger is the bold red stop sign, it is a close up shot and it foreshadows the bad things that are going to happen. The film is set in South central los angeles in the year 1984. The film starts outside and it is day time and a group of children are walking to school, it is a medium long shot, we can see what the area the are walking through is like, we see stray dos and it gives the impression that it is not looked after and we get the feeling of it being run down. The children and the people in the background are wearing normal clothing- this could be to make the film feel more realistic to the audience. On the way to school they stop off at a crime scene where somebody had recently been shot, this would most probably shock the viewer and show them what it would really be like to live in that area.
