Other music ideas

Other music ideas

This is another song that we found that would also fit our film opening , this song is slightly more upbeat, the lyrics if this song also relate to the storyline because it talks about finding someone

We also found this song and thought that it related well to our film but the tempo of it is quite slow so it may not fit in.

Institution

We decided to use film four as our institution

Production diary

New production diary

1/11/12We were first put into our groups and we were told that we would be making our own film opening, our group was me , Lucy and phoebe. We first had a discussion of the genre of film we wanted to make and we spoke about different ideas that we had.

2/11/16-The next lesson we further discussed our ideas and decided on a teen drama where a young girl goes missing.

3/11/16-The lesson after this we thought about names for our film, we researched a few phobias relating to loneliness and isolation we also thought of other things to do with these themes. We decided to use  Panophobia, meaning the fear of everything .

4/11/16-The next lesson we started to plan out the cast ,characters and the storyline , we decided on three main  characters; Erin , Ilsa and Amber.

5/11/16-The lesson after this we worked together to produce a PowerPoint presentation of all the ideas we had so far, we did this over the course of a few lessons and when we finished we presented to the class .

8/11/16-In the next lesson we made a shooting schedule , this included the locations , dates and times that we would be filming.  We also made a storyboard for each scene and the shots that it would include and for how long each shot would last. In this lesson we also made a prop list that included prices.

9/11/16-The next lesson we spent researching different videos that we could get influences from, we looked at music videos that showed teen rebellion, loneliness and some videos that ha some reversed scenes in it.

10/11/16-The next lesson we made a  mood board showing the themes that our film would include we also  did a risk assessment or when we film.

11/11/16-The next lesson was spent by making the missing poster and writing the script/voiceover , before we made these things we spent a while looking at real life missing posters and looking at missing people websites to make sure that our poster looked realistic. We also looked at real missing pleas that were on YouTube , this would help with writing the script.

12/11/16-The next lesson we decided to change our location, because of our new location we needed to call up tenpin bowling to check if it was okay to film there , once we called up we were told to email them , we then did this and waited 48 hours for a reply.

13/11/16-The following Monday we began to film for the first time. We did this at my house after school and this is where we filmed the come home plea, in this scene Lucy and Phoebe acted and I was behind the camera.

14/11/12-The following lesson we went up to a quiet and empty classroom so that we could record our voiceover, we recorded it on both my phone and Lucy's camera, we did this to see what quality of sound was best.

15/11/12-The lesson in-between  then and the second time shooting were spent editing the footage that we already had

16/11/16 -That Thursday we went to film at the arcade, we took a disposable camera with us to take the photos that we would later be burning. Here we filmed most of our scenes.

25/11/16-The next time we worked was on Sunday at around 5 o'clock, this is where we filmed the burning photos and the scene where the missing girl both holds the lighter and watches the come home plea on YouTube, we met in the evening because we needed it to be dark, we filmed this at Phoebes house.

27/11/16- The next lesson where spent editing and uploading the work we had done so far onto the blog, we also redid the story board adding in the shot types and times. We also decided on a song that would best match our film.

28/11/16- When our first draft was complete it was presented to the class , we looked at our feedback the next lesson and took some key point and typed them up. Whilst Phoebe and Lucy edited the following lesson I made the poster for the film.

29/11/12- The next lesson while Lucy edited me and phoebe began to think of different ways to market our film, we decided that two of the ways would  be on social media and on buses. Phoebe made the poster for the bus and I made the twitter page.

30/11/12 -For the next lesson whilst Lucy edited we continued to upload what we had done so far on to our blogs and also looking over our feedback thought of different ways of improving our work.

02/12/16-The next lesson we retook some photos because on the feedback it said that some of the ones we had were unclear. We took these photos around school and it took us the whole lesson.

03/12/16- The next lesson we redid some shots so that we had more shots other than just at the arcade , we also did this around the school.

05/12/16-The next lesson Lucy edited and me and phoebe began to tick of the checklist.

6/12/16- We remade a version of the storyboard on prezi including all of the sots and scenes

7/12/16-

We then decided on the institution of Film 4 and inserted there logo to the start of our film, we also used Phoebes logo and added that to the start.

Logo

Institutuions

For the institution logo we used phoebes because is was nice and simple and we thought it would fit nicely with our film

Music

Music for panaphobia

The song that we used for our film opening was " I'd like to walk around in your mind someday" by Vashti Bunyan. We chose this song because we thought it matched well with our opening scene and also the lyrics tie in with the storyline

First draft

Panaphobia first draft

This was our first draft of our film opening , to improve it we could : make the quality of our disposable camera photos better and vary what we show on them, we could also have had some music that was more up beat during the scenes where the three girls where happy.

Marketing

Marketing

This is one example of how we would advertise our film, we made sure that the poster on the us was bold. By marketing our film this way it will increase the amount of people that will see it. Other ways that we will market our film would be on social media

Locations

The first location that we filmed in was my bedroom, we filmed the come home plea. We filmed here because we needed it to look like the two other girls were filming at home

The second place that we filmed was at tenpin bowling , this is where we shot the scenes fore the arcade montage

We then filmed in phoebes garden , this was when we burned the photos

The fourth place we filmed was at school , we filmed in the corridors and on the field

Fonts

Fonts for titles and film name research
The name of our film is Panophobia, this means the fear of everything. When coming up with the name we researched different phobias and found one that best fit our film. Some of the other names we considered where : Missing, Autophobia and Sociaphobia. We decided that Panophobia was the best fit because it relates to the missing girl and her fears. We didn't specifically choose a font for our titles because we hand wrote them.

Marketing

Marketing

This twitter page is one of the ways that we will be marketing our film. We made this using a template of a twitter page and putting in our pictures. Putting the film on social media increases the chances of people seeing it because a wide variety of people use twitter including the target audience.

Film poster

Film poster

This is the film poster that we made, the photo was taken on a disposable camera when we were at the arcades. The photo being next to the match links in with the film and the way that we have presented the titles. We decided to make the tagline "Noun,1: an abnormal fear of everything." because it is the definition of Panophobia and it explains to the audience what the film may be based around. We made the poster quite dark because it matches the dark storyline. We made the writing white so that there would be a contrast with the background and it would stand out.

Story Board

Production Diary

Origional story board

This was the original story board that we made , we later made another one because this one was a rough one that didnt include shot types or timings.

Filming

The third and final day that we filmed was when we burnt the photos. We did this  outside to be safe and we did this in the evening at 5 o'clock so  that it was dark. We wanted it  to be dark because we didn't want it to look like it was filmed in a garden, it would also make the flames and the scene look more dramatic. When we held the photos up we shone a torch on them so that they were clearly seen. We held the camera by hand which meant that we had to try and be as steady as possible. A slight problem that we faced was holding on to the photos whilst they burnt. This proved challenging to hold still because the flames were big and we did not want to get burnt at the same time wanting  to hold on for as long as possible to get the perfect shot. When filming these scenes we had to be careful when using fire.

Filming

Second day of filming
The next time we filmed was at the arcade, we did this at ten pin bowling in chelmsford, we has originally planned to film at southend but we changed this.
When we got to the arcade it was fairly empty which was a good thing because it meant that we could get all of the shots that we needed with ease.We used a Sony Cyber Shot camera because it had a good resoloution.
Whilst we was at the arcade we also took some photos on a disposable camera, theses are the photos that we would later use to burn.

Because we used a disposable camera it was only after they got developed that we noticed that the pictures where not good quality. This is because we did not use the flash.

Out of the 21 photos on this camera that we took we chose the clearest 8 to use.

Come home plea

This was the end result of our come home plea , i think that this turned out well and exactly as we wanted it.

Camera set up

This how the camera was set up , we positioned it in front of the window so that the lighting looked natural, this was also a good place to put it because there were mirrors in my room, with this positioning we could film the bed and not get the reflection of the camera in any mirrors. We used a tripod for this scene to keep it steady. We had a slight issue with the camera not sitting level , we fixed this by putting something there to keep it in place. We used a Nikon camera with a low resolution so that we could get the feel of it being just filmed by the two girls in a bedroom.

Script

Voiceover script

This is the script that we used for our voice over, when coming up with it we watched real life come home videos , we did this so that we knew what kind of things to say. Most of the ones that we looked at were of families so we had to think of what things friends would say because it would be different. We wanted our script to be as realistic as possible.

Missing poster

Missing poster

This is the missing poster that we created, we researched real missing posters so that we could make a poster that looked as realistic as possible. We saw the things that they included and added that to ours. Something else that we did to again make it more realistic was use photos that had already be taken.

Mood board

Mood board

This is the mood board that we created it shows the overall themes that we were hoping to create in our film opening. We have a photo of an arcade because that is where we will be filming some of our scenes. The burning photo and the lighter are what will be happening. The photo on the top right is at southend where we also plan to film some off our films. The other two photos show lonliness  which is what the missing character
